Offered for sale by Caspar’s Place is
a beautifully engraved, silver-colored metal perfume bottle suspended by 2 chains from a bar pin.
This perfume brooch has filigree edging and a filigree cap set with a faux cabochon turquoise.
The solid sides are embellished with gorgeous, detailed hand engraved flowers, insects, and a bird.  Each side is unique in its design.
The scent vial has a glass inner liner, and the cap has an intact glass stem for applying perfume.
The bar pin and hanging perfume bottle are strongly reminiscent of a vintage ladies’ chatelaine and its hanging accessories.
Both the pin and the scent bottle are completely unmarked as to maker, country of origin, and metal content.
Although it looks like silver and dry polished nicely, no part of the brooch acid tests as high purity silver.
This perfume bottle is NOT monogrammed.  It is in reasonable estate condition for its age with several exceptions.  There is some corrosion on the bottle cap.
It also looks as if the faux turquoise may have fallen off at some point and been glued back in place as there is what appears to be glue residue.
There is one bend in the metal where the neck of the bottle meets the cap.

In addition, the brooch has the patina of old tarnish and fine scratches to be expected with age and use.  There are no visible cracks or chips to the glass liner, but I cannot tell if there are any down inside of the metal bottle casing, so I do not know if it is water or perfume tight.
The brooch’s price reflects its condition.  This perfume bottle pin will make a lovely addition to any jewelry or accessories collection.
The bar pin is
roughly 1.125” wide by 0.125” tall.
The perfume bottle is roughly 1.125” in diameter by 0.25” deep.
From tip of cap to bottom, the bottle itself is 1.375” tall.
The chains are 1.0” long.
Overall the brooch, including pin and bottle, measures 2.125” by 1.125”.
